Embarking upon the custom home design/build process can seem overwhelming- the good news is, you are in the right place. So take a deep breath, settle in and know that step by step, we will tackle all that you need to know.
One of the most fundamental steps in designing and building is to understand the unique and specific needs of your family. For example- is this a home that you plan to live in as you enter into those beautiful golden years of watching grandkids play in your yard or finally getting around to planting that garden that you have dreamt of cultivating for years? A floorplan that is one level may best suit your needs. If you are a young family with kids that like to run and play inside (ahem my children) then you may want to consider designing a plan with plenty of open space and minimal separation in the main living areas.
Think of what your family enjoys to do and where they spend the majority of their time. This will help you discover what spaces will require extra attention to detail in design and which areas you may be able to possibly save costs.
Here is a peek of the flow of our main living area. The living flows directly to the dining and then to the kitchen. And because I know you all will ask, here are the measurements of each space.
